Ch-ch-ch-changes…

handshake

Two weeks ago I had the chance to pitch my book, Stonebearer’s Betrayal, to a small publisher in my community.  Two of their editors were kind enough to visit my writing group, share their advice, and hear about the things we are working on.

One of the strongest points they made, at least with me, was how important it is to blog to attract readers.  This blog has always been for other writers but not necessarily the public at large.  The thought that I needed to start another blog has been on my mind for months. Hearing it directly from a publisher’s mouth was enough to light a fire under me and get things going.

Starting another project that will take time away from revising my book is daunting.  With the new blog came a new twitter feed and more attention on my neglected Facebook author page.  The changes are exciting and scary at the same time.

I’ve finally come to accept that I really am a writer and I better start doing the things that other successful writers do.  Hello World, here I come!

Sometimes I feel like the self-marketing aspect of writing starts to swallow the actual writing.

Amen to that. If I spent the time writing that I did platform building I might have a finished novel by now! Well that, and the kids certainly don’t help.

  3. I try to encompass it all in one blog. One blog is time consuming enough especially if putting a lot of effort into it. Good luck with the new one. It’s a big task!

Had I thought of that in the beginning things would have been so much easier! Now that this blog is already established as a writer’s topic blog it seemed more natural to create another blog for everything else. That, and its kinda fun!

  5. Hey! Would you mind if I share your blog with
my twitter group? There’s a lot of folks that I think would really enjoy your content. Please let me know. Many thanks
