It’s Monday motivation time!
In 2006, a YouTube video of a guy doing a funny little dance all around the world went viral and caught the attention of Stride gum. With their support, in 2008 he created a bigger and better version featuring some of the most incredible locations on earth. More than anything these videos show that we, the people of the world, are the same joyful beings. When watching be sure that the sound is on, you don’t want to miss the music.
The music in the video is known as “Praan” composed by Garry Schyman and sung by Palbasha Siddique, with lyrics adapted from the poem “Stream of Life,” a part of the Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore.
Is there a motif, like dancing Matt, that runs through your writing? Most writers tend to return to the same general themes and ideas through the course of their writing. Some of the more common themes are, “love conquers all,” “triumph of the human spirit,” and “against all odds.” Do you know what your theme is? Is there an idea you naturally gravitate towards?
In blog world my recurring theme is “you can do this.” Anyone can reach their dreams if they are willing to put in the effort.
It’s more difficult to assign a theme to my fiction writing. The two that come closest are “victory of the underdog” and “the ties that bind.”
As always here are some links:
Matt’s official site: find all the videos, his travel journal, and lots of other great stuff, here.
On a totally random note – Matt’s trademark dance appears in the 2005 movie “Herbie: Fully Loaded” performed in the outtakes by Breckin Meyer.
