For the first time in nine weeks I did not meet my quota. So I’ll be hopefully reaching the end of the manuscript by the end of next week. I added 3,000 more words, made progress, that’s all that counts.
Instead of writing I got to work on the set of a student film as their stunt/fighting choreographer. We filmed both Friday and Saturday nights and I didn’t get home until 3am both nights. Needless to say, I’m completely useless today and yet I get to host a party for the Oscars at my house tonight, lucky me. Working on the set was a huge learning experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. When the project is available to the public I’ll post a link.
Life in short story land is crawling along. I figured out some specifics of a new story, nothing sci-fi or fantasy this time. Haven’t had the chance this week to do much else. I’ll be submitting it to Soft Whispers for the ‘Pic1K’ (picture in 1000 words) section of their next issue. Click here if you would like to see the picture prompt.
Here in post world there were three entries since the last review:
Lost in the Blog Jungle – A straight out solicitation for ideas to improve blog readership, even with a bribe of a digital reward.
Action vs. Reaction – An exploration of action based characters and reaction based characters and thoughts on how to place them in character building situations.
The Psychology of Evil – The blog took an unexpectedly dark turn, venturing into the nature of what causes otherwise good people to do scary things. Based on notes from a TED Lecture by Philip Zimbardo.
Next week I hope to finish the rough draft of the manuscript and also the short story for Pic1K.
Until then, Happy Writing!
